How do I block off time when a technician is unavailable?

Go to Scheduling > Technician Availability

• Click the technician's name
• Select the date range
• Set status to Unavailable or PTO

Jobs won't auto-assign to them during those dates. Existing assigned jobs stay put — you'll need to reassign those manually.

Or just create a fake work order called "VACATION" and assign it to them... not elegant but it works and shows up on the dispatch board so everyone sees it.

We've done this for years. The proper way Sylvia mentioned is probably better though.

Great question! It shows in both places — on the mobile app, your technician will see the blocked time marked as "Unavailable" in their schedule view. They can't accidentally mark themselves available for jobs during that window either.

Pro tip: We set up recurring unavailability for our part-time techs who always have the same days off. Saves you from doing this manually every week.

Also, if you're blocking time for something like training where they *could* be pulled for an emergency, use "Limited Availability" instead of "Unavailable" — lets you override if needed.
