With the release of FieldPulse 3.3, several changes were made to the user role permission system. This post clarifies those changes and provides guidance for administrators.

What Changed

The following permissions have been modified or relocated:

  • Work Order > Delete — Previously nested under Work Order > Edit, this is now a distinct permission. Users who previously had edit rights will need to be explicitly granted delete rights.
  • Customer > Export — Moved from Reports > Customer Data to Customer > Manage. No action required unless you used custom roles.
  • Inventory > Adjust Stock — Renamed from Inventory > Manual Override. Functionality unchanged.

Deprecated Permissions

The following permissions are no longer available and have been automatically mapped:

Recommended Actions for Administrators

  1. Navigate to Settings > User Management > Roles
  2. Review each custom role for deprecated or relocated permissions (indicated by a warning icon)
  3. Update roles as needed and notify affected users

  • Thank you for the clarification. I have reviewed our custom roles and identified two that require updates:

    1. Our "Senior Technician" role previously included Work Order > Delete implicitly
    2. Our "Regional Manager" role used the deprecated Dispatch > Bulk Reassign permission

    I have confirmed that the automatic mapping is functioning as described. I will proceed with manual adjustments to align with our governance policy.
