Inventory Reporting

The Inventory Reports section provides visibility into stock levels, usage patterns, and valuation across your organization's parts and materials. These reports support procurement planning, cost analysis, and operational efficiency.

Available Report Types

FieldPulse includes the following inventory reports:

Generating an Inventory Report

  1. Navigate to Reports > Inventory.
  2. Select the desired report type from the dropdown.
  3. Configure filters:
    • Date Range — applicable to usage-based reports
    • Category — limit to specific inventory categories
    • Location — warehouse, van, or technician stock
    • Status — active, discontinued, or all items
  4. Click Generate Report.
  5. Review on-screen or export via Download CSV or Export to PDF.

Understanding Report Fields

Current Stock Levels

  • SKU — the unique identifier assigned to the item
  • Description — the item name and specifications
  • Quantity on Hand — total units across all locations
  • Quantity Reserved — allocated to pending work orders (see Reserving Inventory for Upcoming Jobs)
  • Quantity Available — uncommitted stock that may be assigned

Parts Usage by Job

  • Work Order ID — linked to the consuming job
  • Customer — associated account
  • Technician — individual who logged usage
  • Quantity Used — amount consumed
  • Unit Cost — cost at time of usage
  • Total Cost — extended line value

Scheduled Report Delivery

Reports may be automated for recurring review:

  1. From any generated report, click Schedule This Report.
  2. Set frequency: daily, weekly, or monthly.
  3. Specify recipients and preferred format (PDF attachment or CSV link).
  4. Confirm to activate.

Scheduled reports are delivered at 6:00 AM in the account's configured time zone.

Report Limitations

The following constraints apply:

  • Historical data is retained for 24 months; older records are archived.
  • Real-time reports reflect data as of the last successful sync; mobile offline usage may introduce brief latency.
  • Valuation uses the average cost method; FIFO and LIFO are not currently supported.
